Quick takeaways
- Back up important data before repair whenever the device is still usable.
- Do not send banking PINs, account passwords or one-time codes with the device.
- Describe the fault and when it happens instead of only saying the device is 'bad'.
- Package waybilled devices securely and keep the courier tracking information.
Back up what matters first
If the phone or computer still works, make a current backup of important photos, documents, contacts and other information before repair. Some software procedures, storage faults or board-level failures can make data inaccessible.
A backup is especially important before operating-system restoration, flashing, storage work or repairs where the device may need to be reset as part of testing.
Protect passwords and financial information
Do not write down or message your Apple, Google, email, banking or social-media password as part of a repair request. Never provide card PINs or one-time passwords.
If a technician needs access to test a repaired feature, agree on the safest temporary arrangement appropriate for that device. Jeremy Tech Solutions does not collect customer passwords on its normal job-information card.
Explain the fault clearly
Write down what happens, when it started and what makes it better or worse. Mention recent drops, liquid exposure, previous repairs, software updates or accessories involved in the problem where relevant.
Intermittent faults are easier to reproduce when the technician knows the conditions that trigger them. A short video of the problem can also be useful if the symptom disappears before intake.
If you are sending the device by waybill
Contact Jeremy Tech Solutions before shipping so the receiving instructions and repair-intake details are confirmed. Remove unnecessary accessories unless they are directly related to the fault.
Use protective padding, a rigid outer package and enough internal support to prevent movement. Keep the courier receipt and tracking number until the device has been confirmed as received.

This guide provides general educational information. Device designs, part quality and fault symptoms vary by model, so a physical or software diagnosis may be needed before a repair decision is made.
