01

Scope

These Repair Terms apply to phones, laptops, tablets, smartwatches and other devices submitted to Jeremy Tech Solutions for:

  • Diagnosis
  • Hardware repair
  • Software services
  • Screen-lock recovery
  • Network unlocking
  • Account assistance
  • Upgrades
  • Testing
  • Other approved technical work

02

Device intake

At intake, we may record:

  • Customer details
  • Device brand and model
  • IMEI or serial number
  • Reported fault
  • Physical condition
  • Accessories received
  • Screen-lock status
  • Deposit or payment information
  • Expected completion period
  • Repair reference

Customers should review the intake information and report any error promptly.

03

Testing before and after repair

Customers should allow the device to be tested before repair where possible. Completed devices will undergo reasonable functional testing. Customers are encouraged to test their devices at collection and report any concern immediately.

Testing and acceptance do not remove a consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

04

No inspection fee

Jeremy Tech Solutions does not charge a separate inspection fee under its current policy. Any labour, part, specialist or other cost that may arise must be communicated and approved where required.

05

Consent to begin

Submitting a device authorises Jeremy Tech Solutions to:

  • Register the device
  • Inspect its physical condition
  • Perform reasonable initial testing
  • Diagnose the reported problem
  • Begin work within the scope recorded or approved at intake

If diagnosis reveals a material change in any of the following:

  • Repair scope
  • Cost
  • Required part
  • Expected completion time
  • Risk

We will pause and request renewed approval before proceeding with the changed work.

06

Proof of ownership

The customer must be able to establish lawful ownership or authority over the device. Additional proof may be required for:

  • Screen-lock recovery
  • Apple or Google account assistance
  • Network unlocking
  • Swaps and trade-ins
  • Devices with suspicious identification details

We do not knowingly work on stolen devices.

07

Device condition and hidden faults

Electronic devices may contain faults that are not visible during initial inspection. Opening or testing a device may reveal:

  • Previous repairs
  • Missing components
  • Corrosion
  • Liquid damage
  • Board damage
  • Counterfeit or incompatible parts
  • Tampering
  • Multiple connected faults
  • A fault beyond economical repair

The customer will be informed where a hidden fault materially changes the proposed work.

08

High-risk or “50/50 chance” repairs

Some devices are already severely damaged or unstable before repair. Examples include:

  • Serious liquid damage
  • Major motherboard damage
  • Devices that do not power on
  • Previous unsuccessful repairs
  • Torn or fragile internal components
  • Devices with uncertain data recovery prospects

Such work may be classified as a high-risk repair. Before proceeding, the risk should be explained and specific customer consent obtained. A high-risk repair may fail despite reasonable care.

This clause does not excuse negligence or careless workmanship.

09

Customer data

Customers should back up important information before submitting a device whenever possible. Some repairs and software services may:

  • Reset the device
  • Erase data
  • Reinstall the operating system
  • Remove applications
  • Change settings
  • Require firmware restoration

Jeremy Tech Solutions is not responsible for data loss caused by a pre-existing fault, unavoidable repair process or the customer's failure to back up data, except where the loss directly results from negligence or another liability that cannot legally be excluded.

10

Passwords and credentials

Customers must not send:

  • Phone passwords
  • Apple Account passwords
  • Google Account passwords
  • Banking PINs
  • Card details
  • OTPs

We may record whether a screen lock is active, but we do not request or retain those credentials through public forms, WhatsApp or social-media messages.

11

SIM cards, memory cards and accessories

Customers should remove the following before submitting a device:

  • SIM cards
  • Memory cards
  • Cases
  • Personal storage devices
  • Unnecessary accessories

An accessory may remain if required for testing. Jeremy Tech Solutions will document accessories formally received. Responsibility applies to accessories listed on the intake record, subject to reasonable care.

12

Repair parts

Replacement-part options may differ in:

  • Quality
  • Manufacturer
  • Compatibility
  • Appearance
  • Price
  • Expected performance

Where alternatives are available, the selected option and price should be agreed before installation. Removed parts may be returned upon request where practical and lawful, except where they must be returned to a supplier, manufacturer or warranty provider.

13

Repair time

Completion estimates are not guarantees. Repair time may be affected by:

  • Fault complexity
  • Hidden damage
  • Parts availability
  • Supplier delays
  • Specialist involvement
  • Current repair queue
  • Customer approval delays
  • Courier delays

Many repairs may be completed as wait-and-get services, but this depends on the fault, available parts and workload.

14

External repair specialists

Where a repair requires tools or expertise not available internally, the device may be referred to a trusted external specialist. Only the necessary device and technical information will normally be shared. Customer names and contact details will not normally be disclosed unless required and lawfully authorised.

15

Customer withdrawal

A customer may ask to stop a repair before completion. The customer remains responsible for approved costs already incurred, including:

  • Labour already performed
  • Parts already installed or specially ordered
  • Specialist charges
  • Other unavoidable approved expenses

No charge should be imposed for unauthorised work.

16

Payment and release

All required payments must be confirmed before a repaired device is released, unless a separate written arrangement has been approved. A transfer remains pending until manually verified.

The device may be released only to:

  • The registered customer
  • A properly authorised representative
  • A person who presents the required repair reference or collection information

Additional identity verification may be requested.

17

Collection of completed devices

Customers should collect their devices promptly after being notified that they are ready. A device not collected within 14 days after the notified collection date may be moved to secure storage and will remain subject to risks associated with extended storage, such as natural battery discharge or deterioration unrelated to negligence.

Jeremy Tech Solutions will continue to exercise reasonable care. The customer's ownership does not automatically transfer to Jeremy Tech Solutions after 14 days. Any treatment of a genuinely abandoned device will require additional notice and must follow applicable law.

18

Repair concerns and warranty

Jeremy Tech Solutions does not provide a general warranty on repair services. If a concern occurs after repair, the customer should return the device for assessment. We will examine whether the concern:

  • Relates to the original fault
  • Relates to a replaced part
  • Results from a new or unrelated fault
  • Results from physical or liquid damage
  • Results from misuse
  • Directly results from our workmanship

Any remedy will be determined after assessment and in accordance with applicable rights and obligations.

19

Restricted software and account services

Screen-lock recovery and Apple or Google account-removal assistance are available only to verified device owners. The customer acknowledges that:

  • Proof of ownership may be required
  • A service fee may apply
  • Some procedures may erase data
  • Success cannot be guaranteed for every device
  • Service availability depends on the device and security status
  • Lost, stolen or suspiciously obtained devices will not be accepted

20

Devices sent by waybill

Customers sending devices from another location must contact us before dispatch. The customer should:

  • Provide the device details
  • Back up data where possible
  • Remove unnecessary accessories
  • Package the device securely
  • Keep the courier receipt and tracking details

A device is considered received by Jeremy Tech Solutions only after it arrives and is formally recorded. Courier-related damage, delay or loss will be assessed according to the circumstances and applicable courier terms. Nothing excludes responsibility that legally rests with Jeremy Tech Solutions.

21

Customer acknowledgement

By submitting a device, the customer confirms that:

  • The information supplied is accurate
  • The customer owns or is authorised to submit the device
  • The intake condition and accessories have been reviewed
  • Relevant risks have been explained
  • Approved work may begin
  • Additional work requires renewed approval where applicable
  • The customer has had an opportunity to ask questions
